Applications have been filed to Miami-Dade County‘s Department of Regulatory and Economic Resources seeking the approval for the construction of a 278-unit residential community named Windmill Farms in Unincorporated County 33032, recognized as the Princeton Community Urban Center. Developed by Windmill Farm Associates, LLC and designed by Forum Architecture & Interior Design, the proposal is intended to be built on approximately 9.8-acres of land currently used for agricultural purposes. The site currently does not have an exact address, but is located along the southeast corner of Southwest 129th Avenue and the proposed extension of Southwest 240th Street. The community of Princeton sits just north of Naranja and nearby the US Homestead Base.
Documents from the filing reveal plans to build nine 3-story buildings of different sizes and unit counts to yield 1-bedroom, 2-bedroom and 3-bedroom residences, 457 parking spaces and 1,771 square feet of retail space. Upon constructing the residential structures, new minor streets will be laid out to wrap around the interior lot and private streets will be built within the community. SW 242nd St. would be extended east along the southern edge of the project, to connect with the proposed SW 128th Ave. facing east and SW 240th St. extended west along the northern edge of the site to connect with SW 129th Ave.
