BLOCK 40 is a mixed-use development that is coming soon downtown Hollywood, just a walk away from both Hollywood Circle and the beach. The project is currently being overseen by Gold Coast Florida Regional Center and is intended to vitalize the area.
The 19-story building will be constructed at the former location of the Great Southern Hotel, which was demolished in February 2020. Upon completion, the multi-story building will have 166 residential units, 103 hotel rooms, and 9,793 square feet of commercial space.
For guests’ and residents’ enjoyment, the hotel will have a fitness center, bar, restaurant, conference rooms, and pool on the eighth story. There is no word yet on the name of the restaurant, but per BLOCK 40’s website, it will be “nationally recognized.”
The hotel will be a Hilton Garden Inn. There is no word yet as to what businesses will move into the retail space. The building was designed in the modernism style, which features glass exteriors and minimal flair. It was designed by Adache Group, and Chip Abele is the developer.
BLOCK 40’s physical address is listed as being 290 N. Federal Highway, Hollywood, FL, 33020. It is located in Broward County and is in proximity to Hollywood Circle, the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, and Gulfstream Park.
