Construction on One River Point has been delayed yet again, according to the Construction Journal. The $210 million residential space made it past the initial design phase only to be stalled due to undisclosed factors. The project has been in the works since 2015.
If the plan comes to fruition, it will be two towers overlooking the Miami River. Each measuring 80 feet tall (about 60 stories above grade), plans note that the towers will feature about 300 luxury units on five acres of land. The complex will require 1.2 million square feet of new construction.
The symmetrical buildings, rendered in the contemporary architectural style, will comprise three “phases.” The towers were designed by Rafael Vinoly Architects, which has projects on six continents. The New York-based firm designed the City Football Academy in the United Kingdom, 277 Fifth Avenue in New York City, and the Curve Theatre in England.
Before the project was delayed, it reached its “bids by invitation” phase. This process allowed selected organizations to bid on the project’s development. Potential bidders included mostly Florida-based companies, such as All Star Flooring, Banner Supply Company, and Engineering Express––among others.
One River Point’s physical address is listed as being 24 Southwest 4th Street, Miami, FL, 33130. It is located in downtown Miami near Brickell City Centre.
