When the Plantation, Florida, Fashion Mall opened in 1988, developers had high hopes for the location. Over 1,000 people attended its grand opening. Vanna White was there. Then, in less than 15 years, the Fashion Mall closed, and a 32-acre “gravesite” has remained in its place. But not for long.
Construction for Plantation Walk, a mixed-use multi-million-dollar development, is presently in the works. Boasting both retail, commericial, and residential space, the venture seeks to revitalize the area.
Plantation Walk will feature residential, commercial, and retail spaces
We’ll first start with the residential aspect of the project. Named “the Rise,” studio apartments begin at $2,170 a month. The smallest units are 817 square feet while the largest units are three bedrooms and comprise 1,457 square feet at the most. There was no pricing available for these units at the time of publication.
The Construction Journal has also revealed some interesting details about the venture. Over 205,000 square feet has been reserved for medical outpatient offices. The same source notes that part of the development will comprise residences for seniors, measuring nine stories above grade, comprising 164 units, and requiring over 200,000 square feet of new construction.

These are just some of Plantation Walk’s features. Shops, restaurants, and other ventures are also in the making. While construction is ongoing, the project should reach completion within the next year or so. It’s physical address is 333 North University Drive, Plantation, FL, 33324.
