If everything goes as planned, Hotel Indigo will be Panama City’s first waterfront hotel, according to WJHG. The 124-unit hotel will rise five stories above grade. Construction on the $30 million venture began in July 2021 and will wrap up sometime in early 2023.
The St. Joe Company, an organization based out of Panama City, is acting as the project’s owner and general contractor. According to the Construction Journal, the St. Joe Company presently has 14 active projects, costing a total of $90.6 million. It generally handles residential, commercial, and medical projects in the private sector.
Hotel Indigo has been in the works since 2018. Its bidding style was “bidding by invitation,” meaning that only certain entities were invited to bid on the construction venture.
The 124 units will comprise one to two-bedroom suites. Guests can also enjoy the facility’s fitness center, pool, and standalone restaurant. There is no information at this time regarding the site’s square footage.
One of the biggest draws about Hotel Indigo is that it’ll be in proximity of the Panama Beach Sports Complex. Deemed Panama City’s premier sports facility, the multi-acre location allows for soccer, baseball, lacrosse, and football. It opened in 2019.
Right now, Hotel Indigo’s address is listed as Harrison Avenue, Panama City, FL, in Bay County.
