West Palm Beach is seeing an uptick in growth as new residents and out-of-state firms flock to the city. To accommodate the city’s growing population, plans are underway for “The Grand,” a $51 million project in Palm Beach County. The project intends to provide affordable housing to those in the area.
Construction began on the project in September 2021 and will ideally finish in the second quarter of 2023, per the Construction Journal. The eight-story building will comprise over 300 one- and two-bedroom units. Nine units are three-bedroom townhomes. The Daily Business Review reports that the building’s bottom floor is designated as retail space.
MSA Architects designed the project. Per the conceptual renderings online, amenities include a community pool, courtyard, and firepits.
The Grand’s website reports that on the eighth floor, residents can enjoy the “Florida Bar,” where they can entertain guests. It also designed the building to pay homage to the Grand Theatre, a historic movie theater that once stood along Rosemary Avenue.
Affiliated Development owns the project. The Fort Lauderdale-based firm has four active projects in the private residential, commercial, industrial, and entertainment sectors. Its projects cost an estimated $136 million total.
The Grand’s future address is 620 3rd Street, West Palm Beach, FL, 33401.
