40-Unit Complex to Provide Senior Housing at 105210 NW 132nd Dr., Alachua, FL 32615

Arbours at Merrillwood I is a new senior housing complex coming to Alachua County, FL. The development will include 40 residential units in a three-story building. Units range from one-bedroom to two-bedroom layout plans. The goal is to provide affordable living to seniors.

The development requires over 60,000 square feet of new construction, with multiple engineering agencies working on the job. The building itself measures over 40 feet tall.

Arbour Valley Development, LLC owns the project. The Alabama-based organization has multiple projects in the public and private sectors. Its other residential venture includes Retreat at Cocoa Commons in Brevard County.

Arbours at Merrillwood I is jam-packed with amenities, including a community room, shuffleboard courts, gardening areas, patios, and water fountains. Alachua County Housing Authority reported that construction will begin sometime in 2021 or 2022.

The project itself is estimated to cost anywhere from $5 million to $10 million to complete. Per the Alachua County Housing Authority, there are 17 already-existing housing units. The county will work with those individuals to secure new housing. The organization notes that senior residents will have priority if they choose to reside at the new complex.
