New Student Housing Development Coming to FIU at 795 Southwest 110th Avenue, Miami, FL, 33025

At the moment, Florida International University (FIU) doesn’t have enough on-site student housing. U.S. News & World Report notes that while the college has over 48,000 students, 95 percent live off-campus. However, that’s all about to change. The South Florida Business Journal reports that a new student housing development began construction in October 2021.

Ideally, the project will reach completion by 2024. It’s owned by Toll Brothers Inc –– Corporate Office, and Balfour Beatty Construction is the venture’s general contractor. The project is made possible by a $103.4 million construction loan, per the Construction Journal. Developers obtained the 1.72-acre lot for $19 million in 2018. To make way for the new complex, several small apartment units were demolished.

The new building will comprise over 760,000 square feet of new construction and provide housing for 1,056 students. There will be 293 units and a 576-spot parking garage. There are also plans for over 5,000 square feet of retail stores and restaurants.

The complex, which comprises multiple high-rise buildings, is packed with amenities, including a pool, fitness center, business center, and summer kitchens. The building comes completely furnished. Humphreys & Partners Architects, L.P. designed the project, drawing influence from the surrounding Latin community.

The complex will finish construction sometime within the next three years. Rendering per Mary Cook Associates

The development’s address is listed as 795 Southwest 110th Avenue, Miami, FL, 33025, in Miami-Dade County.

  3. Horrible experience so far. NO ONE WORKS THEY DONT ANSWER THE PHONE it disconnects you they don’t answer to maintenance they don’t have enough parking. It’s a lottery and they give no information on the parking. They towed my sons car after they told him on move in day he could park there. He has NO air conditioning his apartment is 80 degrees. It’s CRAZY expensive and the WORST customer service. I WOULD NOT move in here!!!
