Soon, Jacksonville, FL, will be home to a new Hilton Hotel & Resort. The $70 million project will rise eight stories above grade and require more than 179,000 square feet of new construction. It’s owned by Concord Hospitality Enterprises, and this is the firm’s 27th hotel in the greater Jacksonville area.
One of the big reasons for the project is, of course, Jacksonville’s booming tourism industry. In the post-pandemic world, many people are flocking to Florida’s sunny shores. However, another reason for the project is the nearby Mayo Clinic. The state-of-the-art medical center draws patients from across the nation. The new Hilton will expand on the nearby 134-room Courtyard by Marriott Jacksonville at the Mayo Clinic Campus/Beaches.
The new hotel will have 252 rooms, ranging from one-bed to multi-bed options. Of the 179,000 square feet of new construction, 16,000 square feet is allotted as office space. On-site amenities include a swimming pool, fitness center, and restaurant. Right now, nightly rates are not available. However, hotels in the area (such as Jacksonville’s Hampton Inn) rent rooms for around $110 a night.
Construction will start on the new Hilton Hotel & Resort in 2022. Ideally, the project will open its doors in 2024. DLR Group is the project’s architect, and HVS Design is the interior design firm.
The project’s address is not yet available. However, it will be located near Jacksonville’s Mayo Clinic, which is located at 4500 San Pablo Rd S, Jacksonville, FL 32224, in Duval County.
