Construction on Ouanalao Resort will start in the fourth quarter of 2021, according to the Construction Journal. It will open in 2023. The multi-million-dollar venture will comprise 25 oceanfront villas and 25 cottages. While individuals can own these units, they can only stay on the premises for 185 days a year, per TC Palm. When owners aren’t using their properties, vacationers can stay in the units for up to a month at a time.
The oceanfront villas are about 4,200 square feet each. Ouanalao Resort’s website notes that these homes come with five bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms. They also include 1,200 square feet of outdoor terrace space.

The cottages come with two bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms. They include about 1,300 square feet of interior space. They’re fully furnished and come with a 373-square-foot outdoor terrace. At this time, pricing is not publicly available.
Amenities include a three-story clubhouse, conference room, fitness center, banquet hall, and pool. The 15-acre plot also includes a 20-boat slip on the Indian River Lagoon. The project’s owned by Heaton Companies, LLC, which is based in Palm Beach, FL. It partnered with Jacob Companies (Jacob Erecting & Construction LLC), the general contractor.

The Construction Journal reports that the venture will cost over $10 million to complete. Ouanalao Resort is located at 7700 South Ocean Drive, Jensen Beach, FL, 34957, in Saint Lucie County.
