Despite much controversy, Kelco Brooklyn, LLC, is proceeding with a new Home2Suites hotel in Jacksonville, Florida. Upon completion, the six-story building (hovering around 80 feet) will comprise 100 rooms, primarily aimed that those visiting Duval County for recreational and business purposes.
The project, estimated at $17 million, will start construction in spring 2022, with Pinkerton & Laws General Contractor acting as the general contractor. Kasper Architecture and Development is the architect.
Per the Jacksonville Daily Record, the new Home2Suites hotel will include a ground floor restaurant (featuring outdoor seating) and a spacious parking lot with a landscaped perimeter. According to the Jacksonville Business Journal, the restaurant’s estimated to measure 2,000 square feet.
This isn’t the only Home2Suites in the surrounding area. There are two other hotels under the brand name. Records note that, as opposed to the already-existing ventures, this Home2Suites hotel received tax incentives from the city.
Presently, there are more than 540 Home2Suites in the U.S. Texas has that most locations, boasting 13 percent of all locations.
Kelco Brooklyn, LLC’s latest Home2Suites is slated for 600 Park Street, Jacksonville, Florida, 32204, in Duval County. In terms of relatively proximity, the hotel is northeast of I-95 and east of I-10.
