Deer Creek Senior Living is undergoing construction in Gainesville, Florida. The 62+ community will offer 62 units in a five-story building, ranging from one-bedroom to two-bedroom layout plans. The 3.30-acre build site requires about 66,000 square feet of new construction. Neighborhood Housing & Development Corporation, Inc. owns the development. Verdex Construction began construction on the venture more than a year ago.
Communal amenities include a multipurpose entertainment room, fitness center, computer room, and outdoor picnic area. The venture’s website notes that there will also be a walkway connecting the nearby Gainesville Senior Recreation Center. The 17,000-square-foot facility offers social events for “younger baby boomers, older seniors, and their caregivers.”
The affordable housing complex will offer 62 units.
Dominium Apartments notes that Deer Creek Senior Living is an affordable housing complex. Seven homes are set aside for those making less than 33 percent of the area’s median income (AMI). The venture will require about $16 million to complete, and it was designed by HF Architects & Planners. Conceptual renderings reveal a multi-colored, mid-rise building with on-site parking and a covered walkway.
Other involved parties include Fetner Engineering, Wadsworth O’Neal & Associates, Inc., and Liebl & Barrow Structural Engineering Inc. They are the civil engineer, MEP engineer, and structural engineer, respectively.
