Marketplace at Hillsboro Getting a “Facelift” at 4201 West Hillsboro Boulevard, Coconut Creek, Florida

Marketplace at Hillsboro in Broward County, Florida, is getting a “facelift.” Established in 1991, the plaza was repossessed and then sold for $10 million in 2016. Now, Investments Limited (the owner) hopes to transform the area into a mixed-used pedestrian-friendly development, offering a post office, daycare center, medical office, and more.

Sources report that the venture could require more than 130,000 square feet of new construction. The venture’s website reports that in addition to the commercial aspects, the development will feature electric car charging stations, butterfly gardens, and “smart” fountains.

The venture will breathe life into a sleepy strip mall.

Additionally, developers hope to add landscape upgrades that will add to Broward County’s goal of having 40 percent tree coverage. Other procedures will minimize how much waste Marketplace at Hillsboro produces. CoconutCreekNews.net reports that this aspect made the project favorable in the eyes of many local residents.

CJM Construction Inc. could start sitework later this year in the third quarter. If all goes according to plan, the multi-million-dollar venture could finish construction in the fourth quarter of 2023. Mummaw & Associates, Inc. is the architect, A Grant Thornbrough & Associates is the landscape architect, and Bohler Engineering is the civil engineer.
