The Hardwick at Ford on Bay is taking shape in Duval County, Florida. The $140 million venture rests on a 2.4-acre riverfront parcel. The development could offer 332 apartments in a building measuring 300 feet tall, resting on a 75-foot pedestal.
The Jacksonville Daily Record reports that the ground floor will host retail stores and restaurants. Residentsnews.net notes that the building could measure anywhere from 19 to 20 stories. Sources report that the mixed-use development could start construction in April 2024.
Developers hope to finish the project by December 2026, although they haven’t yet selected a general contractor. Carter & Associates, LLC is the owner. Shulman + Associates is the architect. It released conceptual renderings online, taking the development’s design seriously. It doesn’t want the Hardwick at Ford on Bay to look like a ”run-of-the-mill 2022 residential building.” Instead, it wants to pay homage to some of the neighboring downtown structures.
Renderings show a high-rise building with green roof features. The development also offers easy access to a marina with at least five boating slips. The development requires more than 25,000 square feet of new construction and has 550 parking spots.
The Hardwick at Ford on Bay address is 330 East Bay Street, Jacksonville, Florida, 32202, in Duval County. The development overlooks the St. Johns River, sitting north of where I-95 merges with I-10.
