Developers hope to move forward with Sistrunk View, which hopes to revolutionize the downtown Fort Lauderdale area. CRA Revitalize Fort Lauderdale notes that the venture will transform Sistrunk Boulevard into a “millennial hotspot.”
The South Florida Business Journal reports that the community could offer 106 apartments in a six-story building. These are all affordable housing units, comprising one-bedroom to two-bedroom layout plans. Eligibility is reserved for those making $18,500 to $70,400 a year.
Homes could measure 400 square feet to 600 square feet each.

Sistrunk View will offer more than homes; it’ll also comprise nearly 6,000 square feet of commercial space. This will all rest on a .97-acre build site. Google Earth’s renderings suggest that the future build site is mostly unoccupied.

Sistrunk View could cost $34.4 million to complete, with developers seeking $15.4 million in low-income tax credits and another $19 million in construction loans. Construction is expected to start early next year. Housing Trust Group and its partners are spearheading the project.
Corwil Architects, Inc. designed the community. Conceptual renderings show a mid-rise building with floor-to-ceiling windows and a multi-colored paneled façade. Sistrunk View’s address is 790 Sistrunk Boulevard, Fort Lauderdale, Florida, 33311, in Broward County.
