Construction could start on Hilton Tempo in September 2023. Initially, the venture was supposed to break ground in 2022. Yet, according to FOX 4 Southwest Florida, the Fort Myers Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) pushed it back after the venture switched owners. Before, Marriot would oversee the venture. Now, Hilton does.
Upon completion, the eight-story hotel would offer 140 rooms, requiring close to 80,000 square feet of new construction, per the Fort Myers CRA. At this time, it’s unclear what amenities the hotel will offer.
However, if it’s anything like the other hotels under the Hilton Tempo brand, amenities will likely include a fitness center and swimming pool. Construction is expected to finish in December 2024, meaning that the process would take just over one year.
Gulfshore Business notes that Hilton Tempo will have a sizeable economic impact on the surrounding area. The hotel is expected to generate $87 million in revenue and create 745 jobs.
Earlier this March, our sources estimated that the venture would cost $40 million to complete. They also listed Butler Rosenbury & Partners, Inc. as the architect, Eres Companies as the project manager, and TDM Consulting Inc. as the civil engineer.
Hilton Tempo––Fort Myers could soon take shape at 2300 First Street, Fort Myers, Florida, 33901, in Lee County.
