A single-family housing development located “near the backdoor to Walt Disney World” has started pre-construction sales despite not having broken ground. The Palms at Windermere will feature 57 single-family homes, offering three-bedroom to seven-bedroom options.
The Orange Observer reports that residences will span 2,500 square feet to 5,000 square feet each. They will come with upscale furnishings and features, sources indicate. They will also rest on 60- and 65-foot-wide lots, with prices expected to start in the $800,000s. Dream Finders Homes is the developer.
It purchased the 306-acre property for $5.87 million. The property is part of the larger 1,200-acre Lake Reams conservation site. The Palms at Windermere will be “the last new construction in the area,” as only 15 acres of the larger 306-acre site can be developed, according to Gerry Boeneman of Dream Finders Homes.
In May 2023, the Orlando Business Journal reported that Dream Finders Homes has a backlog of nearly 850 homes in Orlando, with the average residence hovering around $626,819 each. The organization also has a 1,674-home backlog in Jacksonville.
The Palms at Windermere offers a major draw: it’s just minutes away from Walt Disney World Resort. The venture itself will unfold at an unlisted address in Central Florida.
