LD&D, a Miami-based developer, recently unveiled the hotel brand for its $200 million mixed-use project in downtown Tampa. The development, situated on a 2-acre site at 1101 East Harrison Street in Tampa’s Encore district, will feature a 178-key hotel, announced as an Element by Westin. LD&D is collaborating with Dynamic Group Management on this 10-story hotel development.

As the Tampa Bay Business Journal recently reported, further developments by LD&D include naming the overall project Cass Square. In addition to the Element by Westin Hotel, the complex, designed by Baker Barrios, will host DoMo at Cass Square. This part of the development comprises a 28-story, 360-unit apartment building boasting over 45,000 square feet of amenity space, 586 parking spaces, and 32,500 square feet of ground-floor retail.

This hotel signifies Dynamic’s second venture in the Tampa market. Roshan Amin, CEO of Dynamic, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership with LD&D, stating, “Our Tampa market entry aligns seamlessly with our commitment to crafting valuable, community-enriching assets. We are excited about the strategic partnership with LD&D and look forward to leveraging our collective strengths for mutual success. This collaboration marks a significant step in our journey toward redefining hospitality standards and creating lasting value in the communities we serve.”

Diego Bonet, managing partner of LD&D, shared his vision for the project, saying, “Our vision for Cass Square is to serve as a key centerpiece of downtown Tampa, connecting all its unique neighborhoods, and offering a dynamic mix of experiences that enhance quality of life for both residents and visitors. We are excited to introduce this community-centric concept in an invaluable location, furthering connectivity with Tampa’s main amenities as the city continues to experience impressive economic and population growth.”

The groundbreaking for the apartment tower and the hotel is scheduled for the summer of 2024. Coastal Construction of Miami, known for its work on several notable Tampa projects, including Water Street Tampa towers, the Ritz-Carlton Residences, Tampa, and the Arts and Entertainment Residences, has been appointed as the general contractor for the apartment tower. The general contractor for the Element Hotel is yet to be determined. Additionally, LD&D has plans to develop a $115 million mixed-use tower in downtown St. Petersburg near Tropicana Field, further expanding its portfolio and influence in the Floridian real estate market.
