ZOM Living Announces ‘MetLife Residential’ for MetLife International in Tampa, FL

The final piece of the larger MetWest International puzzle has been announced in Tampa, FL. Our sources indicate that ZOM Living, in partnership with MetLife Investment Management, has plans for a mid-rise housing development named “MetWest Residential.”

According to the Tampa Bay Business Journal, the eight-story luxury complex would offer 375 apartments, measuring 576 to 1,601 square feet each. Floorplans range from studio to three-bedroom apartments.

Communal amenities would include a resort-style swimming pool with an outdoor deck, courtyard, state-of-the-art fitness center, and a lot more. Plans also call for 3,000 square feet of retail space and a six-story parking garage. Looney Ricks Kiss (LRK) is the architect.

Information from Apartments.com suggests that completion is slated for 2026, although this hasn’t been officially confirmed by our sources. While we don’t know how much rent would cost, the same website notes that for a 583-square-foot apartment in the area, rent starts at around $1,200 a month.

ZOM Living recently secured $63 million in construction financing from TD Bank to make MetWest Residential possible. The Tampa Bay Business Journal reports that this isn’t the first time a developer has taken steps toward a residential development at MetWest International. Two attempts were made in 2014 and 2020, but those ventures never came to fruition.
