Winter Park-based Lenken Construction Group has plans for a large-unit townhome community in Central Florida. The Orlando Business Journal reports that “Serena Townhomes” will feature 36 two-story units, with homes reaching no more than 35 feet high.

Many of the larger townhomes in the region have three-bedroom layout plans, but the homes at Serena Townhomes will be much larger, with floorplans spanning four to five bedrooms. The developer purchased the now-vacant 4.87-acre property for $880,000 in 2005.

These will be at-market rate units, with an exact price point not yet available. Karma Development Group, which is based locally in Winter Park, is handling the townhomes’ architectural components. The Serena Townhomes isn’t the only townhome venture unfolding in the Sunshine State.

Yesterday, Florida YIMBY reported on the completion of EDEN at Kendall West. A build-to-rent community, the venture is located in Arlingwood, Jacksonville, where it currently offers 265 residences spread over 20 acres. Residences span from 700 to 1,300 square feet, and at the time of publication, Apartments.com noted that rent started at $1,425 a month.

The Serena Townhomes could take shape at 8137 Curry Ford Road, Orlando, FL, 32822, in Orange County. It will be west of Florida State Road 417.
