In less than two weeks, Davie’s Planning & Zoning Board will hear plans for “Saddlebridge Downtown Davie”, a multi-family housing development in Broward County. The venture would be located on a mostly vacant parcel near the Bergeron Rodeo Grounds.

If approved, it would yield 286 apartments in two four-story buildings connected by a pedestrian bridge. The units themselves would span 752 to 2,045 square feet, with floorplans ranging from lofts to three-bedroom designs.

According to the South Florida Business Journal, the building on the parcel’s north side would feature 185 apartments, while the building on the south side would offer the remaining 101. Communal amenities include a fitness center, swimming pool, co-working space, and two courtyards.

Plans also call for 507 parking spots, most of which would be in a multi-story garage. Coral Springs-based White Oak Development is the developer. Of the 286 units, three homes would be avaliable for those earning up to 80 percent of the area median income (AMI). Fifty-four homes would be designated as workforce housing, aimed at those earning up to 120 percent of the AMI.

MSA Architects designed Saddlebridge. It also designed a project in New York-based Kimco’s pipeline: an eight-story complex with 282 apartments. Hollywood’s Technical Advisory Committee considered that proposal on July 15th.

City records note Saddlebridge is located “on the west side of the intersection at Davie Road and Southwest 42nd Street (with related addresses at 4175 and 4217 Davie Road).”
