In December 2022, Florida YIMBY reported on Artea at Southbank, a luxury apartment complex in Jacksonville. Now, nearly two years later, we have updates regarding the venture.
Artea at Southbank topped out in March 2024, and a month later, developers told the Jacksonville Daily Record that the project was “on time”, expected for completion in the second quarter of 2025. At full buildout, the complex will comprise 340 Class A multifamily units, with layout plans spanning studios to three bedrooms.
Artea at Southbank is unique in that it will feature “the Ori Pocket Office”, one of the first “expandable apartments” in the region. With the push of a button, these 10 units will offer a collapsible workspace with a desk, cabinets, and shelves. When not in use, the setup folds back to allow room for more living space.
The Jacksonville Business Journal reports that communal amenities at Artea at Southbank will include (but aren’t limited to) three courtyards, a dog spa, swimming pool, fitness center, and more. Plans also call for a 425-spot parking garage, averaging to 1.25 spaces per unit. Artea at Southbank itself is located near various transit centers.
We originally reported that Artea at Southbank would cost $75 million to complete. New sources suggest that it will now cost $93 million. The community will be located at 944 Broadcast Pl, Jacksonville, FL, 32207, in Duval County.
