Westlake, Palm Beach County’s newest city, will see the addition of the Westlake Palms shopping plaza, with construction scheduled to begin on January 3, 2025. The 1.3-acre commercial development site, located at 4931 Seminole Pratt Whitney Road, was sold by Minto Communities, the master developer of Westlake, to Westlake Palms, LLC, led by Don Hearing.

The project will include a 10,400-square-foot multi-tenant retail center designed with seven in-line bays ranging from 1,305 to 1,648 square feet. Two tenants have opted to combine adjacent bays for larger spaces. The center will house a pre-leased optometrist, dentist, orthodontist, and café. Additional features include 48 parking spaces, two electric vehicle charging stations, and a bike rack.

Westlake is a 3,800-acre master-planned community with 6,500 homes and 2.2 million square feet of retail, restaurant, office, and commercial space. The city has seen significant commercial growth, with retail developments such as the Shoppes of Westlake Landings, home to tenants like Starbucks, Taco Bell, KFC, Habit Burger, Orangetheory Fitness, and Dental Care at Seminole Ridge. Upcoming openings include Chipotle, 3 Natives restaurant, Verizon Wireless, Westlake Ortho, and Go Green Dry Cleaners.

In addition, Publix, which opened a grocery store and retail plaza in 2023, has started developing the second phase of its approved retail center. Construction has also begun on a Tractor Supply Co. store, adding to the city’s expanding retail options.

Westlake offers a range of housing options, including single-family homes, estates, and townhomes. Home prices in the community start in the mid-$400,000s.

  1. AS A 78 YEAR OLD NEW YORKER, WHOSE PARENTS PURCHASED THEIR FIRST HOME IN 1941, JUST PRIOR TO PEARL HARBOR (THREE BEDROOM, REAL SLATE ROOF, 5 X 100 PROPERTY) IN QUEENS,
NYC, FOR ….. $7,200, !!! YES, NO MISTAKE – AND IS NOW – 2024 DEMANDS ONE MILLION,
THE IDEA THAT YOUR HOMES … ‘RANGE’ IN THE MID – $400,000.00 BOGGLES MY MIND.
    PERHAPS, I’VE LIVED TOO LONG.
EXAMPLE: WHEN – ‘ROLLS ROYCE’ OFFERS AN SUV – FOR THE SAME PRICE AS YOUR MID PRICED HOMES, MONEY MEANS … ‘NOTHING’. OH YES, MERRY CHIRISMAS!
