FAA Filing Reveals Potential 1,000-Foot Tower in Brickell Adjacent to I-95

A filing with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) suggests the potential for another supertall tower in Brickell, with new permits requesting a height of 1,000 feet, or 1,010 feet above sea level. The filing, submitted on January 28, lists the project under the name “Brickell Mixed Use” and describes it as a multi-purpose building. However, it remains unclear whether the FAA would approve a supertall skyscraper at this location, as height restrictions in the area are subject to aviation regulations.

The property in question spans an entire city block adjacent to I-95, covering addresses at 302, 324, and 330 SW 7th Street, as well as 301, 311, 319, 327, and 337 SW 8th Street. Four separate permits were filed, one for each top corner of the proposed structure. The block is currently owned by LA CHANSON OVERSEAS INC, which holds all the parcels on the site. A portion of the land is presently used as a soccer field, and a sign advertising it for sale was spotted on-site last year.

The property last sold in 2013, and while the FAA filing suggests a potential high-rise development, it remains uncertain if the site’s owner intends to build or is seeking to increase its marketability for a future sale. Given its location and existing FAA constraints, the feasibility of a supertall at this site remains in question.
