Miami World Tower 1, the first phase of the Miami World Towers development at Miami Worldcenter, officially opened at the end of 2024, introducing 560 rental units to Downtown Miami. Standing 579 feet tall and comprising 53 stories, the tower enhances the city’s skyline with its sleek and modern design. It features a fully glazed façade and a unique arrangement of balconies that create a subtle wave-like pattern along its exterior. The project was developed by Lalezarian Properties and designed by Nichols Architects; Coastal Construction Group served as the general contractor and Johnson, Avedano, Lopez, Rodriguez & Walewski Engineering Group, Inc. was the MEP engineer.

Recent aerial and ground-level photographs capture the building’s finished exterior, reflecting a high construction quality standard. Unlike some projects that undergo value engineering or cost-cutting measures, Tower 1 appears to have maintained its design integrity from concept to completion.

The aerial view above looks east toward the west elevation of Miami World Tower 1, highlighting its distinctive wave-like balcony design and prominently visible parking garage. In the foreground, the vacant site is set aside for the upcoming phases 2A, 2B, and 3, which will introduce an additional 25-story tower and two 68-story towers, adding over 2,000 residential units to the Miami World Towers block. The tower’s glass façade reflects the skyline, blending seamlessly into the high-rise density of Downtown Miami.

The following aerial view captures the northwest corner of the building, emphasizing its reflective glass façade and the structured layering of its balconies. The parking podium, topped with a landscaped amenity deck and pool, is visible in the foreground. Paramount Miami Worldcenter stands to the left with its curved blue glass, while the Freedom Tower, Bezel Apartments and Biscayne Bay can be seen in the distance. To the right, the towers of Flow House are visible, with 600 Miami Worldcenter’s rising formwork between them. The top of Aston Martin Residences can also be seen in the far background.

The building’s crisp glass curtain wall and protruding balconies contribute to its distinctive appearance, making it stand out among the various residential towers completed at Miami Worldcenter in recent years. While much of the district follows a uniform design language, Tower 1 brings a welcome addition regarding residential supply, design execution, and overall construction quality.

The tower’s presence further solidifies the area’s transformation into a dense, transit-oriented neighborhood, offering residents easy access to Miami Worldcenter, Brightline’s MiamiCentral station, and the Metromover system.

Nice looking skyscraper. Reminds me a bit (stressing “bit”) of Aqua Tower in Chicago. I saw this tower while under construction a couple of years ago, so nice to see how it turned out.

Great to see more photography from Florida YIMBY!

  2. Building looks good and different.

The pictures capture the relief features of the building. The balcony pics angle nailed it.

  3. Miami keeps looking worse and worse. You’d never know you’re in a tropical area on the water. Ugh.

  4. Oscar Nunez you are an artist! Thank you for always delivering spectacular photographs no matter the esthetics of your subjects.

  5. “aesthetics” (duh)
