Developer Plantation B2 LLC hopes to get approval for an apartment complex that would take shape in the parking lot of Chewy’s headquarters in Sunrise. The Miami-based firm has proposed a six-story, 300-unit apartment building.

Homes would span studio to three-bedroom floorplans, and 20 percent of them (60) would be reserved for tenants earning up to 120 percent of the area median income (AMI). Typically, for a project to be considered under the Act, at least 40 percent of the homes would be designated workforce housing, so developers will still have a hearing. According to Broward County records, the county’s median household income is $74,534 a year. Aside from the residences, plans also call for a 358-spot parking garage, a swimming pool, and courtyard.

Kimley-Horn is the civil engineer. Corwil Architects designed the community. The Coral Gables-based firm also designed Courtside II, a project Florida YIMBY covered in October 2024. The second and final phase of that venture broke ground in last year’s fourth quarter, where it will offer 120 residences in two seven-story buildings.

Plantation B2 LLC acquired the project’s 7.9-acre site for $6.04 million last year. The six-story venture has been proposed for 7510 W. Sunrise Blvd., Sunrise, Florida, 33313, in Broward County.
