Tavistock Development Company has announced the first wave of confirmed tenants for Lake Nona West, a 405,000-square-foot open-air lifestyle center currently under construction in Orlando’s Lake Nona region. Anchor tenant Target will be joined by national retailers including Nordstrom Rack, Total Wine & More, Barnes & Noble, and Homesense, collectively accounting for more than 300,000 square feet of pre-leased space. The project is on track to open in Spring 2026.

Located on 54 acres at the intersection of Lake Nona Boulevard and Boggy Creek Road, Lake Nona West is designed as a pedestrian-oriented district combining retail, dining, entertainment, and public gathering spaces. Site plans call for shaded walkways, landscaped plazas, public art installations, and flexible zones for events and pop-ups. The development will feature a mix of boutique retailers, fitness studios, and personal-service tenants in addition to its national anchors.

The first confirmed dining tenant, Cañonita, will bring a full-service Mexican restaurant concept operated by Tavistock Restaurant Collection to the site. The brand, best known for its long-running location at The Venetian Resort in Las Vegas, will debut its modern Mexico City–inspired menu for the first time in Central Florida.

“We are delighted with our tenant lineup. I think it’s a great testament to Lake Nona’s regional significance and the thought and effort that Tavistock devotes to placemaking,” said Skipper Peek, Senior Vice President of Commercial Development at Tavistock. “We look forward to announcing a number of highly regarded national and first-to-market tenants soon. Honestly, we couldn’t ask for stronger leasing momentum.”

As part of its infrastructure and sustainability planning, Lake Nona West will also incorporate 20 Level 3 electric vehicle charging stations through a partnership with Mercedes-Benz High-Power Charging. The chargers will be accessible to all EV drivers and are capable of delivering speeds up to 400 kW—allowing select vehicles to charge in approximately 20 minutes. The addition complements Lake Nona’s broader EV network, which includes Level 2 chargers across its Town Center and mixed-use districts.

“Lake Nona represents the kind of forward-thinking, design-driven community that perfectly complements our vision for the future of mobility,” said Sharon Baker, Vice President of Site Acquisition at Mercedes-Benz High-Power Charging. “Florida is one of the leading EV markets in the U.S., and drivers are hungry for amenities and experiences that align with charging dwell times and their lifestyles – Lake Nona West is ideally positioned to meet that demand.”

Lake Nona West has already drawn early recognition from the real estate industry. NAIOP Central Florida named it the 2024 Retail Deal of the Year, and CoStar awarded the Target lease as the National Retail Deal of the Spring for Q1 2024.
