Florida YIMBY has an update regarding an affordable housing development we covered in May 2025. Our initial report shared that Miami-based Pinnacle had proposed Tropical Crossings, the second phase of the 215-unit Tropical Pointe.

Now, construction has officially started on the venture. The community intends to meet the ever-growing need for affordable senior housing in South Florida.

The now-named Pinnacle at Tropical Crossings will measure eight stories and feature 110 units reserved for low-income seniors – specifically those making 30 percent and 60 percent of the area median income (AMI). Miami-Dade County’s median income was $87,200 as of 2025.

Homes at Pinnacle at Tropical Crossings will exclusively comprise studio and one-bedroom apartments – 39 and 71, respectively. Communal amenities will include a cyber lounge, fitness center, and community room.

Miami-based Anillo Toledo Lopez Architecture is the architect. PC Building is the general contractor; the firm intends to have the project completed by fall 2027. As noted, Pinnacle is the developer, and it intends to spend just over $40 million to make its affordable housing project possible.

Pinnacle at Tropical Crossings will be located next to its sister development, Tropical Pointe, at the southeast corner of Southwest 250th Street and Southwest 137th Avenue, Princeton, Florida, 33032, in Miami-Dade County.

  1. The grey corner with the zig-zag window pattern is HIDEOUS.
