Sobe 18 Hotel, a one-story hotel located in Miami Beach, is accepting construction bids by invitation as of May 17, 2021. In total, the hotel will have 36 units with food and beverage service on the ground floor. There is no word yet on the expected cost of construction, but the land was secured for $4 million.
The hotel will be built in the modernist architectural style, which is popular throughout Fort Lauderdale and Miami. The project is owned by Sobe 18 LLC, which is situated on Bay Harbor Island, FL. Ronald “Ronny” Finvarb, who manages Sobe 18 LLC, in the past completed the Kimpton Hotel Palomar South Beach, which is another boutique hotel located in Miami Beach.
Right now, because the owners are still accepting bids, there are no construction companies actively working on the project. Construction will begin sometime next year, with no word on when it will be completed. The hotel will, in total, be 10,200 square feet. Sobe 18 Hotel will be located at 1790 Alton Road, Miami Beach, FL, 333139. It will be located in Miami-Dade County.
Previously, the location was slated for a five-story commercial and retail building, which according to records, was supposed to have 30 parking spots and 8,000 square feet of commercial space. That project did not come to fruition.
