Last week, construction started on The Whitt, a multi-family housing development in Riverview, FL. Featuring 211 one-bedroom to three-bedroom residences, the venture will offer apartments divided between three four-story, woodframed buildings.
BLDUP reports that homes will span 650 to 1,262 square feet, with the average unit measuring 989 square feet. The Tampa Bay Business Journal reports that the “resort-style amenities” include a 24-hour fitness center, yoga studio, community clubhouse, and swimming pool—along with grilling stations and space for various outdoor activities. One of the most appealing amenities may attract dog owners; our sources indicate that “[m]ore than an acre of the site will be devoted to a dog park.”
Wingspan Development Group and ABC Capital Corp. are The Whitt’s developers. The pair acquired the two parcels that now make up The Whitt’s 12.35-acre site for a combined $6 million in 2022. Nicholas and Associates, considered a “sister company” to Wingspan Development Group, is operating as the general contractor. Construction could take anywhere from 18 months to two years, although this hasn’t been officially confirmed.
RentCafé notes that the average monthly rent for a 1,006-square-foot apartment in Riverview costs about $1,843 a month. While our sources don’t list an exact address for The Whitt, they note that it’s located at Big Bend Road and Simmons Loop.
