Foundation pouring is complete on the site of Okan Tower, a 70-story mixed-use skyscraper under construction at 555 North Miami Avenue in downtown Miami. International property developer Okan Group recently celebrated this significant milestone for their highly anticipated development, which is set to become the area’s next major mixed-use megaplex. The 36-hour continuous pour began on Friday, March 29, and was expertly managed by general contractor Jacob Companies in a joint venture with Okan Construction.

Designed by Behar Font & Partners and developed by Okan Group, the 902-foot tall megaplex is located at 555 North Miami Avenue, at the crossroads of culture, entertainment, art, fine dining, and Miami’s waterfront. The development will include residences anchored by a Hilton Hotel, offering a range of exclusive amenities. Upon completion, Okan Tower will yield over 900,000 square feet of space, including a 316-key Hilton Miami Bayfront Hotel, 163 Sky Residences with owners-only amenities, 236 Short-Term Rental Residences powered by Hilton Hotels & Resorts, and 64,000 square feet of ‘Class A’ office space. An October 5th filing at the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) reveals Okan Tower, the 70-story mixed-use skyscraper planned for 555 North Miami Avenue in Downtown Miami, has gotten a slight height reduction. New building permit applications show the massive tower would rise 893 feet, or 906 feet above sea level, a decrease of 9 feet from the previously planned 902 feet and 915 feet above sea level. The tulip-inspired tower is designed by Behar Font & Partners for developer Okan Group. It will be anchored by Hilton Hotel & Residences and yield 399 residential units mixed between condos and condo-hotel units, a five-star resort-hotel with 316 rooms, 67,588 square feet of Class A office space, and nearly 3,000 square feet of retail/commercial space. Civic Construction is the project’s general contractor, located on the southeast corner of the intersection between North Miami Avenue and Northeast 6th Street.

Plans For The 70-Story Okan Tower Appear To Be Back On Track In Downtown Miami

After a year and a half long hiatus or so, plans for the Okan Group’s mixed-use 70-story Okan Tower have resurfaced and appear to be back on track. In a recent article from Miami Today, the company’s CEO Kasim Badak is quoted saying the pandemic halted all operations, but that they are back in business and moving forward. Designed by Coral Gables-based Behar Font & Partners, the 902-foot-tall skyscraper was originally planned to include 293 Hilton Hotel rooms, 389 residential units, 64,000 square feet of Class-A office space and 2,915 square feet of retail space.
