The Plans have been submitted to the Wynwood Design Review Committee (WDRC) for The Collective Wynwood. Addressed as 2825 Northwest 2nd Avenue, the proposal calls for the construction of an 8-to-12 story mixed-use building on a L-shaped plot of land in the heart of Miami’s Wynwood Arts District. The Collective is listed as the owner of the application under the Wynwood Gateway II, LLC.
New York-based The Collective, who already operates over 1,500 units across 6 cities in 4 countries, is looking to develop its first communal living space in Miami, offering a mix of 108 residential units ranging from studios to 4-6 bedrooms, 70 lodging units in a variety of configurations, 9,508 square feet of ground floor retail space and up to 82,000 square feet of shared amenity spaces. An underground parking garage of 175 spaces is also planned. The developer looks to replace an aging single-story commercial building and retail bays along the southwest corner of NW 29th Street and NW 2nd Avenue with a new building that embraces the artsy aesthetic of the bourgeoning district.

The Collective Wynwood is designed by Brooklyn-based nArchitects, with Corwil Architects selected as the executive architect and Kimley Horn responsible for landscaping. The structure’s exterior will be made up of a white-based raked cement plaster finish on all elevations and dark grey corrugated ultra-high performance concrete panels at the base. Windows will be framed with black anodized aluminum and enclosed with clear glass, and there are also large spaces on several elevations reserved for art murals.
The Wynwood Design Review Committee will be reviewing the proposal come April 14th.
No completion date or ground breaking date has been announced as of yet.
