Construction is now fully complete on Lake Nona Wave Hotel, a 17-story hotel at 6100 Wave Hotel Drive in Lake Nona, Orlando. Designed by Miami-based Arquitectonica and developed by the Tavistock Development Company, the development arm of international private investment organization – the Tavistock Group, the building stands 199-feet and is comprised of 234,248 square feet of space including 234 high-tech guest rooms – of which 18 are artistic suites, and over 12,000 square feet of tech-infused meeting and event space. The project is part of the 100-acre Lake Nona Town Center master-planned community which is expected to yield 4 million square feet of mixed-use development at completion. Lake Nona Wave Hotel first broke ground in 2019 with Balfour Beatty Construction as the general contractor, officially opening to the public in December 2021 with CoralTree Hospitality managing the establishment.

Since our last update in May 2021, the remainder of the glass curtain wall has been installed on the tower, and the podium level is complete. Recent photographs show all elevations of the finished development with sunlight coming from the west, depicting the wave-like form of the 17-story structure enveloped in glass.

The building features lengthy private terraces on both the northern and southern elevations. The glass windows span from floor-to-ceiling for maximum exposure to natural light.

The word “WAVE’ is painted white and perched atop twice near the roofline on the western and eastern elevations towards the northern side of tower.

The building appears to be split into two sections, mostly notable through a gap in the structure that runs down the western and eastern elevations in a wave-like pattern.

One of the most striking perspectives of the building is seen diagonally facing towards the west on the north side, where the elevation of stacked terraces flawlessly flow in a wave-like pattern, hence the name of the hotel which is derived directly from this design feature. The framing and positioning of the glass panels along the perimeters of the terraces create very subtle curves that define the overall structural profile of the building.
