Façade installation is nearing completion on the Lake Nona Wave Hotel, a 17-story hospitality building under construction in the Lake Nona Region of Orlando. Designed by Arquitectonica and developed by the Tavistock Development Company, the approximately 199-foot-tall structure will yield 234 guest rooms, featuring 18 suites, spread across 234,248 square feet including 12,000 square feet of meeting and event space. The project is located on 2.1 acres of land currently addressed as 6714 Tavistock Lakes Boulevard on what is considered to be Block 3 of Phase 2 in the Lake Nona Town Center Master Plan.
Recent photos show the state of construction on the hotel and the progress on the installation of the glass envelop. Most of the blue-green tinted panels have been installed on the tower portion, and what remains to be finished is the podium level which has already begun on the northern section. Judging from YIMBY’s visit to the site, it won’t be long before the exterior is fully complete.
Lake Nona Wave Hotel will welcome guest via a vibrant lobby featuring eclectic seating areas surrounded by displays of art, a cocktail bar and a stadium staircase lounge for work and play. Tavistock hopes to treat future visitors will generous amenities, including a stylish pool deck, a Technogym-powered fitness center and access to the Lake Nona Performance Club signature fitness facility. Guest rooms will feature in-room tablets, lighting and temperature control technology, smart TV’s, electronically-locking doors and voice-activated controls and entertainment. It’s location hits a sweet spot for foodies as the community already offers several exceptional dining venues within close proximity as well as Boxi Park, which is an outdoor venue offering food truck-style eateries, and that’s aside from the Signature evening restaurant that will eventually look over Town Center Plaza. And best of all, the hotel is only 6 miles from Orlando International Airport, so transportation to-and-from should be relatively easy.
Tavistock Development Company is the development arm of the Tavistock Group, which is an international private investment organization comprised of a family office, trading operation, and a portfolio of public investments and private companies.
Construction on Lake Nona Wave Hotel is expected to wrap up later this year and set to open Fall of 2021.
