Royal Palm Companies (RPC) purchased the neighboring 7,500-square-foot parcel of land at 61 Northeast 9th Street beside Legacy Hotel & Residences (Legacy) at Miami Worldcenter to expand its 10-floor $100 million first-of-its-kind Blue Zones Medical and Wellbeing Center to be even more expansive than previously planned. The property was purchased by 61 NE 9TH STREET LLC, an entity linked to RPC, for $4,450,000 from SIN BIN INC Given the impressive demand for preventative medicine and wellness, Dan Kodsi and his team are catering to the demand through expanding the center by 60%. The original plans called for 100,000 square feet of space, and will now span 160,000 square feet.
The world’s first center of this kind will offer cutting edge, highly personalized, preventative, and elective healthcare combining modern medicine, ancient healing practices and the most sophisticated AI and technology under one roof. The services will include diagnostic, surgical, medical, spa, fitness, lifestyle medicine and well-being improvement programming. Legacy residents and hotel guests will receive exclusive membership perks, allowing Legacy to offer some of the most advanced health and wellness services available to keep its guests and residents healthy. California-based Adventist Health will manage operations at the first flagship location, leasing the entire 10 floors of the wellness space. All interiors images below are courtesy of the developer.
Legacy Hotel & Residences is now under construction at 942 Northeast 1st Avenue in Downtown Miami’s 27-acre Miami Worldcenter multi-block complex. The development will rise 691-feet and span 55 stories as the second tallest building in the master planned community. Kobi Karp Architecture & Interior Design Inc. is behind the Art Deco-detailed design of the building and ID & Design International is handling interiors. There will be 310 condominium units, which have sold out, and 220 hotel rooms; owners will have the option to rent out their spaces on platforms such as Airbnb and VRBO without heavy restrictions.
Moss & Associates is listed as the general contractor. Foundation work is already underway, but vertical construction permits are still being reviewed by private provider Pacifica Engineering.
Completion is expected in 2024.
