Alexan Westshore is a new mixed-use development that could start construction next summer. The multi-million-dollar venture would offer 388 multi-family units in a six-story building. In addition to about 9,400 square feet of retail, the venture also calls for a seven-story parking garage with 693 spots.
The Tampa Bay Business Journal reports that the complex would replace a low-rise Ramada hotel that was built in 1973. Developers purchased the 4.28-acre build site for $18.9 million in 2021. Sources report that Dwell Design Studio Headquarters is the architect. A subsidiary of Trammel Crow Company––Tampa is the developer, and Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. is the civil engineer.
Conceptual renderings show that the residential development is not attached to the parking structure. Visitors and residents can enter the parking garage via a private road. These renderings also suggest that the retail aspect will be on the ground floor.
Residents also have access to various on-site amenities, but information is limited on what these amenities are. Sources report that as of October 6, 2022, developers had requested a rezoning variance that would allow them to start construction on Alexan Westshore. Before construction officially starts, they must demolish the Ramada hotel.
Alexan Westshore’s address is 1200 North Westshore Boulevard, Tampa, Florida, 33607, in Hillsborough County.
