Swire Properties Inc. and Related Companies have started the demolition process for the future site of One Brickell City Centre, soon to be the tallest commercial building in Florida. A special ceremony was held yesterday at 700 Brickell Avenue to mark the occasion, with Miami Mayor Francis Suarez, Swire Properties Inc. President Henry Bott, and Related Companies Chairman and Founder Stephen M. Ross in attendance. The event not only celebrated the progression of this groundbreaking project but also served as a testament to the strength and resilience of Miami’s office market.

Designed by internationally renowned architecture firm Arquitectonica, One Brickell City Centre is set to stand at approximately 1,000 feet and will feature 1.4 million total square feet of office space. In a remarkable display of confidence in Miami’s future, the developers have secured the largest floorplates ever approved for a commercial office building by the City of Miami.

The ceremony included a stunning display where multiple glass and concrete floors were carved out of an existing site structure by the demolition contractor, Alpha Wrecking Group, symbolizing the transformation process’s beginning. Located at the corner of Brickell Avenue and SE 8th Street, One Brickell City Centre is strategically placed in the heart of Miami’s financial district. This super-tall tower will overlook the Miami skyline, offering 360-degree views of Biscayne Bay, Miami River, and Downtown Miami.

The development marks the second phase of the $1.05-billion, 4.9-million-square-foot, mixed-use Brickell City Centre, which opened in 2016 and was also developed by Swire Properties. As part of this ambitious project, the developers have collaborated to create vibrant neighborhoods that redefine the urban landscape, positively impacting communities for generations.
