The developers of One Brickell City Centre have signed a utility agreement to connect the upcoming supertall office tower at 700 Brickell Avenue to Miami-Dade County’s water and sewer system. The agreement, dated February 22, lists 700 Brickell City Centre LLC and Brickell City Centre Project LLC as the developing entities, with Kieran Bowers of Swire Properties signing on behalf of both entities. Hudson Yards developer Related Companies, led by Stephen Ross, is also a partner in the project. Miami-based Arquitectonica designed the project.

Total demolition permits have been filed for a 10-story commercial building at 700 Brickell Avenue in Brickell, Miami’s financial district. The 190,963-square-foot structure is listed as built in 1971 and has since been used for office purposes with an attached parking garage, occupying an L-shaped 47,610-square-foot lot on the western frontage of Brickell Avenue between Southeast 7th and 8th Streets. The application was created on January 20 and awaits plan acceptance from Miami’s Building Department to begin the review process. Alpha Wrecking Group is listed as the demolition contractor, with an estimated price tag of $1,350,000 for the scope of work.

(Swire), the U.S. real estate arm of the Hong-Kong listed multinational corporation Swire Group, and New York-based Related Companies (Related), the powerhouse developer behind Hudson Yards in Manhattan, have unveiled their official plans for One Brickell City Centre, an approximately 1,000-foot supertall commercial skyscraper proposed to replace an aging 10-story office building at 700 Brickell Avenue in Brickell, Miami’s Financial District. The project is designed by internationally renowned architecture firm Arquitectonica and is proposed to yield 1.6 million square feet of office space with the largest floor plates in Miami for a Class-A office building. If approved, One Brickell City Centre would become both the tallest and largest commercial building in Florida, representing the second phase of Swire’s 4.9-million-square-foot Brickell City Centre mixed-use complex.
