The developers of Mohawk at Wynwood have applied for a demolition permit, hoping to soon start sitework on the mixed-use venture. In July 2021, Florida YIMBY reported on the community, which at that time was to offer 225 units and 24,639 square feet of retail.
Plans have since changed, now offering 35 additional units. Per the Next Miami, the 12-story Mohawk at Wynwood will offer 260 residential units, 20 of which will be two-story New York-style lofts. The South Florida Business Journal notes that other additions include 1,500 square feet of private offices, along with 31,000 square feet of retail and 335 parking spots. Twenty-five percent will be dedicated to electric vehicles.
Communal amenities include a rooftop swimming pool, fitness center, dog park, indoor yoga studios, and more. Mohawk at Wynwood will rest on a 78,000-square-foot build site. It’ll also be located near The Rider at Wynwood, a 131-key hotel/apartment designed for short-term rentals.
Rilea Group is the developer of both ventures. Jaxi Builders is Mohawk at Wynwood’s demolition contractor, while DeForma Studio is the architect. Mohawk at Wynwood itself will resemble Chicago brick facades with metal accents. The venture will be located at 50 N.E. 29th Street, Miami, Florida, 33137, in Miami-Dade County.
