Kushner Companies hopes to get the green light for a luxury housing complex in Surfside. The New York-based firm secured the 2.23-acre build site for $40 million back in September.
Plans call for a 140,637-square-foot apartment building that would measure three stories above grade and offer 87 units. The South Florida Business Journal reports that homes will measure 1,128 square feet to 2,284 square feet each, and there would be one-bedroom to three-bedroom floorplans available.
There will be more than 7,000 square feet of ground floor indoor amenities, along with a rooftop pool deck and a 700-square-foot synagogue. Plans also call for 194 underground parking spots. Jo Palma & Partners is the architect.
Conceptual renderings show a low-rise building with a swimming pool. In addition to the new construction, Kushner Companies would preserve a 2,250-square-foot historic building that was erected in the 1940s.
Surfside’s Planning and Zoning Board will consider the proposal on November 30. This isn’t the first time that a developer has proposed plans for the build site. Originally, Eden Surfside LLC (the former owner) wanted to build a townhome development––then a hotel––but those plans never came to fruition.
Per the Real Deal, Kushner Companies is now working on the “distressed development.” Its address is 9300 Collins Avenue, Surfside, Florida, 33154, in Miami-Dade County.
