Second Phase of Skyway Lofts Breaks Ground at 3900 34th Street North, St. Petersburg, FL

After reaching completion in 2022, Skyway Lofts is getting a second phase. Dubbed “Skyway Lofts II,” the venture will feature 66 affordable housing units, with many reserved for those making 60 percent of the area median income (AMI).

According to St. Pete Rising, some units are set aside for those making 80 percent and 30 percent of the AMI. At the time of publication, a single-person household making 30 percent of the AMI would make $18,250 a year, according to the City of St. Petersburg. The units will be housed in a four-story, wood-framed building.

Skyway Lofts II will offer homes ranging from one-bedroom to three-bedroom layout plans. Blue Sky Communities Executive Vice President and CFO Scott Macdonald noted that Skyway Lofts II would offer room for communal amenities that weren’t possible in the first phase.

It could offer various outdoor amenities, along with a fitness center. The 66-unit complex could cost more than $16 million to complete. Construction is already underway, with completion slated for mid-2025.

As indicated, Blue Sky Communities is the developer. It partnered with Place Architecture on the building’s design, and Park and Eleazar Construction on the building’s construction.

Skyway Lofts II is currently unfolding at 3900 34th Street North, St. Petersburg, FL, 33711, in Pinellas County.
