Developers are continuing to move forward with Lake House in St. Petersburg, although it has scaled back the venture significantly amid community concerns. Initially, the residential tower was to measure 18 stories above grade and offer 77 units.
Under revised plans, Lake House would rise 11 stories and offer 45 homes. It’s a seven-story decrease from the original plan. Levels five through 10 would have six units per floor, while the 11th floor would have penthouses. The 840-square-foot café planned for the build site will remain, and it will feature a sculpture from a local artist.
Current plans also call for a three-story, 72-spot parking garage that “will have brick detailing, multi-pane windows, and decorative railings.” The St. Petersburg Development Review Commission will consider the new proposal on April 1st.
Skyward Living is the developer. It scaled back Lake House’s original plan to minimize the area’s building density and avoid infringing on “important public open space.” The Pinellas County-based developer has partnered with Place Architecture on the community’s design.
Per St. Pete Rising, “the new condo tower will be more consistent with neighboring buildings.” Lake House is planned for 200 Mirror Lake Drive North, St. Petersburg, FL, 33701, in Pinellas County. The proposed build site currently hosts five low-rise buildings.
