Recently, Florida YIMBY reported on two hotels taking shape near Jacksonville International Airport. Together, the extended stay hotels would yield just over 200 units, and they would be built by Integrated Construction.
Now, we’ve learned of another venture that intends to offer accommodations for those staying in the region. The Jacksonville Business Journal reports that North Carolina-based BPR Properties has filed plans for a Homewood Suites by Hilton. It would measure four stories above grade and offer 131 rooms. Upon completion, it would join the 20-plus hotels near JAX––being the fifth Homewood Suites developed. Currently, there’s three in Jacksonville and another in St. Augustine.
This project has a generous timeline; it’s expected to take more than five years to complete. Developers intend to start construction in early 2026, with the hotel reaching completion in the first quarter of 2028. The 2.7-acre property was purchased for around $1.3 million in January of this year.
Google Earth’s renderings show that the build site is adjacent to a now-closed rental car service. The one-story building could be demolished as part of construction. BPR Properties’ Homewood Suites would be located at 1771 Airport Road, Jacksonville, Florida, 32218, in Duval County.
