On Tuesday, Florida YIMBY reported on a residential housing development in St. Petersburg. The project, led by BendinRoad Development and Landings Real Estate Group, would measure 13 stories and offer both apartments and short-term rentals.
Today, we’re reporting on another venture in the developers’ pipeline: The Residences at 801 Whiting. Expected to open in 2024, the seven-story community would comprise 104 luxury units. St. Pete Rising reports that these include 52 apartments and 52 short-term rentals.

Homes will range from studio to one-bedroom layout plans, with measurements spanning 409 to 453 square feet each. In 2021, the Tampa Bay Business Journal reported that the project would likely cost anywhere from $25 million to $30 million to complete, with rent starting in the low $2,000s.
The partially furnished residences come with stainless steel appliances, Ori Cloud Bed systems, and modern finishes. BDG Architects notes that communal amenities include a fitness center, shared co-working spaces, and a game room. There will also be a second-story swimming pool and an outdoor patio. Residents will have access to the ground-floor lobby and 72 bicycle spaces.
Oak Construction is the general contractor. BDG Architects designed the mid-rise, and Kimley-Horn is the civil engineer. True to its name, The Residences at 801 Whiting will be located at 801 East Whiting Road, Tampa, Florida, 33602, in Hillsborough County.
