Florida YIMBY has an update regarding Mayla Cypress, a multi-family venture we first covered after its approval in 2021. Our sources report that following the security of a $92 million construction loan, developer Grover Corlew intends to break ground soon.
Upon completion, the venture will offer 312 units and a host of upscale amenities, including (but not limited to) a billiards room, an outdoor kitchen, and a clubhouse. There will also be a swimming deck with cabanas. Additionally, plans call for 586 parking spots that future residents would share with the employees of the adjacent building.

Mayla Cypress is described as an “infill project,” as it will replace a now-demolished, once-underutilized office. As noted, Grover Corlew is the developer. Mayla Cypress is the second development under the larger Mayla banner; the firm completed Mayla Pompano Beach last year. Florida YIMBY covered that venture shortly after its announcement in 2022.
Grover Corlew purchased the 3.71-acre site for Mayla Cypress for $5.9 million. MSA Architects designed the 312-unit venture; renderings show a mid-rise building with modern upscale finishings. Boca Raton-based Straticon is the general contractor. Despite concerns regarding high interest rates and the prospect of increased construction costs, it hopes to finish the project by 2027.
Mayla Cypress is slated for 6261 NW 6th Way, Fort Lauderdale, FL, 33309, in Broward County.
