Atlanta-based Portman Holdings intends to move forward with an eight-story housing project in Pompano Beach.

The unnamed development would comprise 397 apartments, with the studio to three-bedroom homes spanning about 540 to 3,400 square feet. According to the South Florida Business Journal, the venture would feature more than 8,100 square feet of interior amenities, including a fitness center and clubhouse.

There would also be a sixth-floor amenity deck with a swimming pool. Aside from the homes, Portman Holdings also wants to incorporate 12,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space, which would face East Atlantic Boulevard.

The project would replace an office building constructed in the 1960s. Image from Google Earth

Plans also call for 506 parking spots, averaging to about 1.27 spots per unit. Portman Holdings hopes to purchase the 45,635-square-foot building on the proposed site; the building was constructed in the 1960s, and the proposed build site itself measures 3.2 acres.

KEITH is the planning firm; MSA Architects designed the mid-rise. The firm also designed The Parks at Hallandale, a mixed-use project, also in Broward County. Upon its anticipated completion, it will comprise seven five-story buildings, offering a total of 398 homes. It topped out in February 2025.

Portman Holdings’ proposal concerns 2400 E Atlantic Boulevard, Pompano Beach, FL, 33062, in Broward County.
