A South Florida-based developer hopes to meet the growing demand for pickleball and padel courts in the region. Hy Nissim Developments LLC has proposed a four-story fitness center that would offer pickleball and padel courts, along with coffee/retail space, programming areas, a cold plunge pool, and sauna.
The project would require over 40,000 square feet of new construction; more specifically, it would have an 8,600-square-foot gym, a 1,600-square-foot programming area, and 1,700 square feet of retail. Plans also call for three enclosed padel courts on the roof, three indoor pickleball courts, and 32 ground-floor parking spots.

Oakland Park’s Development Review Committee intends to review plans for the project next week. The 18,499-square-foot property is presently home to a single-story retail plaza that would likely be demolished to accommodate the new facility. Hy Nissim Developments LLC purchased the parcel for $1.15 million in 2024. The new facility is estimated to cost anywhere from $4 million to $4.25 million to complete.
Noval Architecture designed the venture. Hy Nissim Developments LLC’s four-story facility isn’t the only venture to feature padel and pickleball in the region. Last July, Florida YIMBY reported on Padel Broward, a two-story venture that would feature eight padel courts, six pickleball courts, a pro shop, juice bar, and more.
