Construction has officially started on Aqua, a 77-unit community in Tampa. The three-tower venture will occupy a 6.1-acre lot, with the towers facing west to “maximize sunset views.” The build site was the last vacant parcel in the Westshore Yacht Club, and prior to the start of construction, it was vacant.
Per Aqua’s website, homes range from two-bedroom to four-bedroom floorplans. In-unit amenities include pre-wired smart home technology, private elevators, and nine-foot six-inch-tall ceilings.
Florida YIMBY first reported on the venture in 2022, when the cost of ownership hovered around $1 million. Now, according to the Tampa Bay Business Journal, homes start at $1.5 million, with 40 percent of the units already resold. Aqua’s groundbreaking ceremony will take place May 9.
Westshore Group LLC is the developer. Coastal Construction is the general contractor. The firm, which went public in 2022, is also working on various projects, including the Arts and Entertainment Residences and The Ritz Carlton Residences.
Tampa-based Curts Gaines Hall Jones Architects (CGHJ) designed the community, IDDI is the interior designer, and Booth Design Group is the landscape architect.
Our sources have not revealed a construction timeline for Aqua. Yet, the development is slated for 5505 Bowen Daniel Drive, Tampa, Florida, 33616, in Pinellas County.
