World-Class Medical Center By UHealth Breaks Ground At SoLé Mia In North Miami

SoLé Mia, the 184-acre master-planned community in North Miami, broke ground on a world-class medical center by UHealthUniversity of Miami Health System. Once completed, it will be UHealth’s largest outpatient medical facility. UHealth at SoLéMia is a major steppingstone in the 15-year development plan for the site, which is slated to have more than 15residential developments, complemented by lifestyle retail and open space-acreages, including SoLé Mia’s iconic 7-acre lagoon. A groundbreaking ceremony on September 9th included various guests from the University of Miami’s Board of Trustees and medical leadership team, the LeFrak family, Jackie Soffer, Turnberry, Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava, and City of North Miami Mayor Philippe Bien-Aime.

When completed in 2025, the state-of-the-art health at SoLé Mia will be the health system’s largest mobile site. It will feature 110 exam rooms, ten operating rooms, 33 clinical treatment units for cancer patients, open green space including a reflection garden, and views of both the ocean and SoLéMia’s lagoon that will enhance the patient experience receiving comprehensive services and care. The seven-story, 363,000-square-foot medical center will offer the communities of North Miami, Aventura, and the surrounding area access to academic medicine focused on healing, wellness, and prevention. The center will include specialists from Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, the Bascom PalmerEye Institute, the Desai Sethi Urology Instituteandtop-notch care from nationally ranked neurology and neurosurgery programs. Specialties include cardiology, endocrinology, otolaryngology, gastroenterology, dermatology, and physical rehabilitation.

SoLé Mia, Miami’s next city within a city, is the ultimate destination in North Miami. The expansiveness of the site has provided LeFrak and Turnberry the opportunity to create a vibrant community of residential, retail, and other commercial options while emphasizing recreation and wellbeing amid SoLé Mia’smore than 30 acres of open space.

The UHealth medical center opening is scheduled for 2025, coinciding with the completion of SoLé Mia’s next 30-story residential tower, 2400 Laguna Circle. Turnberry is concurrently launching One Park Tower, an Arquitectonica-designed 31-story, 303-unit condominium anticipated to be completed in 2026.
