Ortega Construction Company is the general contractor with L&R Structural as the shell contractor.
Recent aerial photos show the progress of construction on the building, which topped off in September, and the progression of the window installation. The first pairs of glass panels and aluminum window frames have reached the top floor, with the levels up to the 27th floor completed and four more levels to finalize the entire scope of work. Exterior work, which will involve waterproofing and smoothing down the concrete shell with dark gray stucco, should commence soon. YIMBY last checked in on construction for Metro Edgewater in December 2021, when formwork had just reached the 5th level.
Apartment at Metro Edgewater will come in one-bedroom, two-bedrooms, and three-bedrooms which range in size from 696 to 1,241 square feet. Amenities would include a landscaped deck with a pool, lounge chairs, private cabanas, and a fitness center on the 8th floor. Miami-born artist Johnny Robles will beautify the metal louver screen that will envelop the parking garage with geometric artwork. The developer also plans on building out a pedestrian promenade along Northeast 31st Street, which will act as a gateway to the Paraiso District from Biscayne Boulevard.
